APPLEGREEN BIODIVE COMPETITION
Applegreen is giving three primary schools in the Republic of Ireland a chance to win a grand prize of a school biodiversity garden worth €10,000 by participating in the Applegreen BioDive Competition.
10 runner up primary schools in the Republic of Ireland will have a chance to win a biodiversity workshop delivered by Biodiversity in Schools (subject to then-current Covid-19 situation), and all confirmed participating schools will receive a Biodiversity pack containing educational resources for the classroom.
Applications to participate in the Applegreen BioDive competition can be made from 17 January 2022 to 04 February 2022.
PROCEDURES AND RULES
Participation is limited to 124 primary schools in the Republic of Ireland, [on a first-come, first-served basis]. Applegreen’s decision as to confirmed eligible schools is final.
To register your school’s interest, complete the application form available at https://drivechange.applegreen.com/biodive/. Only one application may be submitted per school. Applegreen will contact successful confirmed eligible schools and will send a BioDive pack to the 124 selected participating schools. Completing an application form will constitute entry into the competition.
The poster can be completed by affixing all 120 unique collectible stickers, which will feature photography of and facts relating to Ireland’s native species. One pack of stickers can be collected in Applegreen stores in the Republic of Ireland with every in-store shop purchase with a value of at least €5 (fuel-only, tobacco, alcohol and lottery item purchases are excluded). Stickers are subject to availability. Only one pack of stickers may be collected per transaction.
When the poster is completed with all 120 unique collectible stickers, each school should complete the entry form (which includes a knowledge test) and upload an image of the completed BioDive poster on the BioDive page at drivechange.applegreen.com by no later than April 29th, 2022.
The knowledge test on the entry form must be completed by a pupil in the participating class, nominated by the class teacher. The pupil must complete the knowledge test within 10 minutes. No assistance may be provided to the pupil and the school’s board of management is required to ensure compliance with these terms.
Applegreen will accept partially completed posters with the entry form, provided the knowledge test is completed and correctly answered. All confirmed eligible schools who return a completed entry form with a correctly completed knowledge test will be entered into the prize draw, even if the poster is not fully completed and/or returned. Incomplete entry forms and/or incorrectly completed knowledge tests will be considered invalid and will not be entered into the draw. Applegreen’s decision as to whether an entry form (including the knowledge test) has been correctly completed is final. Only one entry may be submitted per school.
Late, illegible and/or incomplete entries are not eligible for entry into the prize draw and will be deemed invalid. It is the responsibility of the school to ensure that entries are received by Applegreen before the deadline. Applegreen will not be responsible for any technical or other failure that results in an entry not being received or properly recorded by Applegreen.
The prize draw will be held in May 2022, supervised by an independent observer.
Each winner will be notified after the draw to arrange collection or delivery of their prize. If Applegreen cannot contact any winner or the winner does not claim within one month of the prize draw taking place, then this may result in forfeiture of the prize and Applegreen reserves the right to select an alternative winner in accordance with these Procedures and Rules. Only one prize may be won per school.
All confirmed participating schools that return an entry form will receive a Biodiversity pack containing educational resources for the classroom.
No cash or credit alternative is available, and each prize is non-transferable and non-exchangeable. If any prize becomes unavailable, Applegreen reserves the right to substitute an alternative prize of equal or greater value.
To the fullest extent permissible by law, neither Applegreen nor its parent company, affiliates, directors, officers, employees, or agents shall be responsible or liable to compensate the winners or accept any liability for any loss, damage, (including without limitation special, indirect or consequential losses), or injuries of any kind whatsoever, as a result of taking up the prize, except where it is caused by Applegreen’s negligence. Your statutory rights are not affected.
Applegreen may, with the winner’s consent, publish details of the winning schools, with photographs and footage of the winner with the prize in future editions of its publications, social media pages and its websites.
Any personal details received will be kept in accordance with the Applegreen Privacy Policy available at https://www.applegreenstores.com/privacy-policy/.
