Filling up the car is one of the biggest challenges for disabled drivers. That is why Applegreen are delighted to partner with FuelService
Through FuelService, drivers can now contact Applegreen stations ahead of their arrival and see if they are able to assist them at the pump. Once they have arrived, it lets them inform the station and tells the staff member which fuel pump they are parked at.
FuelService is a fully managed cloud based solution that works with the existing telephone in the station for communication. When a driver makes a request, the phone rings and the station staff press 1 if they can help, or 2 if they can’t. Quickly and easily letting drivers know if they can help.
FuelService helps overcome some of these challenges for disabled drivers and allows us to provide a seamless experience for all of our customers.
Forestry
As an Irish company, Applegreen is an active supporter of Irish biodiversity and climate targets. We are now one of the largest contributors to the Irish Government’s Woodland Environmental Fund (WEF) and are committed to planting 300,000 native Irish trees by the end of 2023.
We have overseen the planting of our first 100,000 native Irish trees at sites in Leitrim, Clare and Westmeath in 2021, and are proud to contribute to Ireland’s forestry goals.
Applegreen Charitable Fund
The Applegreen Charitable Fund was set up in 2009 with the aim to give back to the communities in
which we operate throughout Ireland.
To date the fund has raised €5 million which has supported a number of charity partners, many with
children at the core, and with the aim of delivering tangible and visible benefits to the communities that we serve.
The charitable fund currently has a three-year partnership with Barretstown, becoming one of the
largest annual contributors to the children’s charity.

This has been made possible by working in close collaboration with our local Irish suppliers to deliver a wide and growing range of products. Through supporting further product development and range expansion, we are providing a stable platform for local Irish suppliers to grow their businesses sustainably across Ireland.
