Belview Egg Farm was established in 1978 by Dermot and Nicola Herlihy. The family run business has grown from strength to strength over the last 40 years. Although Belview is smaller than the markets leading competitors the company stands out for its advances in technology. As a result of this Belview is used as a reference site for National and International companies.
Originally the company started with a mere 5,000 hens and a table top grader and now the company has expanded 9 times to deal with the increasing demand on sales and has heavy invested in top of the range equipment. The company now has 24 production houses, 15 in Louth and 9 in Monaghan, with a total of 349,000 hens that are all approved by Bord Bia under the Sustainable Egg Assurance Scheme. The packing centre is approved through the Bord Bia Sustainable Egg Assurance Scheme and holds AA rating with BRC (British Retail Consortium).
In 2017 Belview invested in 400 solar panels, LED lighting throughout the packing centre and received its Bord Bia Origin Green certification in May 2018. In early 2018 Belview introduced robotics to its packing centre and invested in a MOBA MR12 and Double Case Erector. In more recent times we have expanded into our own free range egg production with the purchase of 168 acres and the construction of Irelands largest free range hen house.
